Giving Flowers
Giving Flowers
Most men around the world have trouble
deciding what gift to get their female companions,
friends or relatives. One answer to this dilemma is more
complicated than it seems…Flowers are an appropriate gift
for just about any occasion. Such as birthday gifts,
funerals, weddings, an apology, a newborn, a “get well
soon”, valentines Day, anniversary, a “thank you” gift or
even an out of the blue “I care about you message”.
Having said that. If you really want to make a impact or
deep impression, then it isn’t as simple as going down to
your nearest florist and simply picking up any old
arrangement of flowers.
When trying to get that special message across then you have to
think about colours and their meanings, you have to think about
the size of the arrangement, the different varieties of flowers
in an arrangement. (How much variety is too much?). The
symbolism of the flowers. (What does a sunflower say about the
person being given the flowers). Do you have a message card to
go with it? (Secret admirers generally don’t or just write
“from your secret admirer”). Chaotic arrangements with too many
colours and too many varieties of flower, can be a massive eye
sore and hard to maintain. Although this may seem like a great
idea, sometimes a single rose can say more than a house full of
a multitude of colours and scents. Roses are great because they
come in many colours and can compliment any flower arrangement.
Also it leaves little to be said when you march up to your
partners house with a red rose in hand and serenade them
beneath their bedroom window, under the stars.
If you ever get stuck trying to select some flowers for any
reason, the florist is there to help, and they are usually
experts (as they usually are around flowers all day). How you
give this special someone is just about as important as
selecting the gift itself. Try asking a friend of that person
about what not to do, and about the person’s favourites and
preferences, (more importantly if you haven’t known them long
find out if they are allergic). Then plan a method of attack,
do you send them via delivery service? Or do you break into
their dwelling in the middle of the night and leave a pattern
of roses around their bed in the shape of a heart?
If that special someone doesn’t live in the same city don’t go
reaching for the phone book, a better way to go about it is if
you have a computer and an internet connection, then you can
find a store in their city order the flowers to be delivered on
a certain date, you can even fill out a gift card online (if
you’ve gotten an up to date florest).
