Choosing a partner

Choosing a partner, this article is for those who are looking for a partner to commit to. It’s a guide that shows a strategy that seems a bit unromantic but as most people know planning is the best way to achieve the best results and some things cant just be allowed to run their course. Especially when it comes to a life long commitment, you need to get what you want or the relationship wont last and this guide will help you with that.

Firstly sit down and write a list about what you would like in a partner, in a physical sense. For example, age, do you want them to be taller than you, thinner than you, larger than you? Do you want them to have a ripped body? Do you want them to be fit, or just average? And when you have written this list sit back and think about what it would mean. Lets just say you want a man who is taller, larger, but rippling with muscles. Then you would have to expect that they are probably on a diet of some sort and they exercise frequently…probably 6 days a week for 2-4 hrs a day (yes I mean peak physical performance).

Then think of how this would affect you, do you think you could handle this lifestyle and see less of him than you would like to, or are you the sort of person who would train with him and share his diet, or even go on a diet for that matter. Keep in mind that keeping him from his standard routine might push him away from you or even change him into the opposite of what he started out as, also that opposites rarely attract (how many models do you see in a meaningful relationship with sumo-wrestlers), you need a even playing ground what I mean by this is that you need to have a lot in common physically if you are going to live with this person.

Then when you have the physical side of things sorted, add to the list, what you would prefer their interests to be (remember you must have a lot in common), like sport, food, health, fitness or even computer games, where do they want to be working when they are 50.

I am not going to go into their habits because these can be broken (smoking or even picking nose), or restrained (alcohol consumption, too much cleaning, too much TV or computer games).

Then finally write a special list for the deal breakers, the people who if they have these you are definitely going to avoid for example: Alcoholic, Violent, and Possessive, they have the need for speed (fast cars, fast death), really any dangerous traits. Drug addictions, criminal history, swearing too much…Just anything that will really cause some problems for you that you just cannot tolerate at all. Small things like picking nose, scratching privates or the like you must give them the benefit of the doubt that they will stop this behaviour.

Finally when you have this list finished, memorise it and go out and have some fun, don’t settle for 2nd best, or “that’s close enough” really put in the effort and be patient, your perfect partner is out there, be fair and don’t assume, remember that they wont show you the real person that they are until they trust you, so go with what you know have fun.
